About this hike
The trail to Trnovačko Lake climbs through dense forest and open alpine meadows to reach the glacier lake at 1,685 m elevation. The views from the ridge are among the best in Bosnia - Maglić (2,386 m, the highest peak in BiH) towers directly above the lake. This is a full-day hike with significant elevation gain, suitable for fit hikers.

How the day unfolds
We depart Perucica Base early to make the most of daylight and avoid afternoon weather on the ridge. The trail begins through mixed forest before opening onto alpine pastures with panoramic views. The final push to the lake ridge is steep but rewarding. We rest at the lakeside before descending the same trail back to the trailhead.
